“The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” by Patrick Lencioni – See my review of this book here.
“Integral relationships” by Martin Ucik
“Mastery by George Leonard
“Writing in the Bones” by Natalie Goldberg (My friend Tony has been studying her for a while.)
“Influence” by Robert B. Cialdini (Jeff Walker suggested it so I thought I would check it out)
(Fiction) State of Fear by Michael Crichton (4 Stars). Another fun read. Finished this over a weekend camping in Oregon. Michael did a fair job of character creation and plot development.
(Fiction) The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein. (5 stars). Amazing book. I enjoyed the raw expression of what the colonization of the moon could look like. Also, Robert did a fantastic job expressing the weaknesses of both capitalistic and socialist models. By the end of the book, I felt like I further connected with the founding fathers of the United States of America. These men were not politicians, they just stepped up and did what needed to be done.
(Fiction) Destinae – By Roy H. Williams (Actually I listened to the audio of this book. (4 Stars) I enjoyed it. A lot of fun. This is one of those books where I will need to listen to it several times before I get the deeper meanings. Roy has a way of writing with great depth. Check it out here.
(non-fiction – Business) “Rework” by 37signals I give this a 5 Stars rating. It is a great read, insanely useful ways to streamline your business. I am learning more and more every day how little it actually takes to be successful. http://37signals.com/rework/
(non-fiction – Eastern Philosophy) “Flowers Fall” by Hakuun Yasutani - ” This is a very advanced translation of Dogen’s teaching, he was a zen master. Really, I was fortunate enough to have a study group (White Cloud Zen Center) to participate with in this read.
(non-fiction – Economics) “Crashproof 2.0″ – Peter Schiff ( 4 Stars – Very useful macroeconomic perspective on the US fiscal spending policy and the implications of those policies that will be playing out in the coming years. I only gave it a four because I felt there was a lack of discussion on the virtual market sectors, like software or creativity. BTW, I have been following Peter’s podcasts and enjoyed them immensely. ) http://www.amazon.com/Crash-Proof-2-0-Economic-Collapse/dp/047047453X
(non-fiction - Psychology )”Owning Your Own Shadow” – By Robert Johnson – (4 Stars – I enjoyed this small read. It was suggested to me by my good friend Tony Zampella. I created a post based on what I learned from this book, <click here> to check it out. In short this book assists one in expanding your consciousness by realizing that there are vast stretches of you that you suppress, repress, ignore, argue with or disown.)
